Description of Family Child Care
The childcare Certification of Registration is the State of New Jersey attempt to assure families that the minimum requirements to operate a childcare home have been met.

Quality Care Resource & Referral Services’ administer the Family Child Care Program (FCC), helping community residents establish their own child care business, become a register family child care provider and provide quality child care under the state of New Jersey rules and regulations. Registered Family Child Care Providers enable families to receive quality child care for their children in a private, safe, and residential setting.

Requirements
Who can be a Registered Child Care Provider?
To become a registered Family Child Care Provider you must:
* Be at least 18 years of age and a NJ resident
* Be of good character and able to care for children
* Provide a doctor's statement and Mantoux TB results
* Provide two references
* Have a substitute at least 18 years of age available for emergencies
* Reside in the Family Child Care home
* disclose criminal convictions and Child Abuse Record Informaitn on yourself, substitute and household members 14 or older.

The process of being a FCC Provider
1. Application process
2. 8 hour pre-service training that takes place over 2 days, 4 hours each day
3. Home Inspection
4. Pay a $25 registration fee

A complete application for Family Child Care includes a 10 page application, the provider health Exam form, two Family Child Care References and a CARI Consent Form for , your substitute and any household members 14 or over.
